Launching Cialis Together® with the brand-to-consumer model.

Sanofi, a leading pharmaceutical company, approached Precision to provide pharmacy and eCommerce support for the UK launch of Cialis Together®.

The partnership between Sanofi and Precision seamlessly integrated the pharmacy approval and sale of Cialis Together® with the launch of a new consumer brand site, marking a significant milestone for both companies.

Given that forecasts indicate 48.92% of consumers will opt for online purchases of healthcare products by 2028, establishing an eCommerce platform which allows the consumer to buy directly from the brand was a key consideration for this launch. This in turn reinforces trust for the consumer, as they are buying the product directly from the brand themselves; and more importantly, without the need to visit a GP.

One of the primary tasks undertaken by Precision was to provide strategic guidance on seamlessly integrating the eCommerce pharmacy with the new consumer brand site. The underlying objective was to provide an uninterrupted experience for consumers, from reviewing general brand information to completing their purchase within the same environment.

Whilst completing the transaction it was imperative to ensure the suitability of the product for the end user. Precision developed a comprehensive pharmacy questionnaire to assess the general health of the consumer, and a digital process to enable the consumer to complete that questionnaire. This tool served as an instrumental assessment to determine the suitability of the product for sale to consumers.

 

In-house pharmacy services

With our dedicated in-house pharmacist, customer success team, and RP(i), we also took charge of storing the P licensed medicine in our MHRA licensed warehouse facilities.

Our in-house GPhC pharmacy service reviews and approves the sale of every product, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Our skilled team of developers developed a platform and dashboard for the pharmacists to review the large amount of medical information being collected, note further confidential consultations if required, and the transactional data related to the sale.

With a successful ‘approval for sale’, our warehouse and distribution team manage the pick, pack, and distribution process (overseen by our pharmacist), 7-days-a-week.

 

Data and confidentiality

In addition to these critical operational tasks, Precision provided a secure hosting environment for the storage of data. This aspect was essential in maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Furthermore, we produced a bespoke reporting suite to facilitate a comprehensive review of sales performance against predefined commercial objectives.

Throughout the process, Precision worked as an extension to the international client team, alongside an international agency. Precision’s collaboration with Sanofi played a pivotal role in the successful UK launch of Cialis Together®.

By providing a comprehensive suite of services, ranging from strategic guidance to pharmacist oversight, we were able to support the successful launch of the product in the UK, marking it as the first market in Europe.
